Montessori Learning Materials Truly Stand Out; Here’s How:

For those familiar with Montessori classrooms, one thing that generally stands out is the well-maintained, meticulously selected learning materials. Montessori education emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning that allows students to self-correct and try again until they achieve mastery.

Manipulatives like thermic tiles, counting beads, and movable maps allow students to scaffold their learning with concrete ideas until they reach the point in each subject where they can work in abstraction.

Subject areas are seamlessly interwoven in an authentic Montessori classroom. Hands-on materials are used across various subject areas, and often the same materials can be used for lessons that span a variety of classroom subjects. For example, early childhood dexterity work might involve pouring water from one vessel to another. These same vessels (and water) may be used to explore the differences between states of matter in a science experiment in the same classroom. Throughout the levels of Montessori education, many of the materials will resemble those of the previous levels. Developing comfort, mastery, and a self-guided routine are hallmarks of learning in the Montessori environment. Having familiar but increasingly complex materials helps students move from the concrete to the abstract without fear.
For example, students work with maps, learning the composition and cultures of the world. In early childhood, students start identifying land and water masses and tracing or coloring maps of the continents. As the student progresses, they move on to identify continents, oceans, and countries using new map materials such as puzzle maps. Later, students can locate countries and capital cities on specially made maps, identify geographic features, and eventually create maps in the abstract.
Not only does the complexity of the work grow with the student, but the materials also grow over time. In this way, students can rely on the routines they have established before without hampering their progress toward mastering new skills. Children begin by interacting with the Practical Life materials at the earliest stages. These materials help develop the foundational skills needed to effectively utilize the Math, Language, and Sensorial materials later.

The Prepared Environment Invites Your Child To Explore Their Potential

A lot of time and effort is involved in creating a prepared Montessori classroom designed to meet the individual needs of all children. Through developmentally appropriate, sensorial material that moves hierarchically from simple to complex and concrete to abstract, children are given the freedom to fully develop their unique potential through a carefully prepared learning environment.

Mixed-Age Classrooms Encourage Better Social-Emotional Awareness

Mixed-age groups encourage children to build strong bonds with others, not their age (much like how older and younger siblings interact). This classroom setting teaches peer-to-peer interactions as children are more apt to learn from their peers than adults. Children often gain better social and academic skills than traditionally schooled children within this environment.

Outdoor Learning Complete With Mud Kitchen & Natural Playscapes

Montessori advocated “bringing the inside out and the outside in.” Teachers provide connections between observations of nature and opportunities to learn about plants and animals found in our immediate environment.  Your child connects with nature daily, navigating playscapes, exploring the mud kitchen, and building physical confidence and risk assessment skills in safe, exciting outdoor environments.

Enrichments Such As Yoga, Music, & Spanish Are Included In Tuition

Your child builds flexible communication skills with baby sign language and Spanish. They explore mindfulness with yoga and self-express with music. Offering enriching learning opportunities on-site is easier for parents and fun for children. Plus, for a nominal fee, you can enroll your child in gymnastics here too!

Healthy, Delicious Breakfast, Lunch & Snacks Are Also Included For You

Your child stays energized daily with breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We emphasize nutritious ingredients, follow USDA guidelines to keep them healthy, and offer substitutions to cater to allergies and sensitivities, so you never have to worry.

Full Indoor Playgrounds That Keep Your Child Moving For Motor Skills

One location boasts a large church hall for gross motor games and gymnastics classes.  The other is a complete indoor playground.  Your child strengthens their gross motor skills as they play games, run races, stretch, and dance with friends for improved physical confidence, coordination, and great fun.
